Working at a retirement community was one of the most humbling, rewarding, and life changing experiences I have ever had the honor of experiencing. Although my responsibilities included balancing the various responsibilities of 12 patients with Alzheimer s as well as Dementia, I provided excellent one on one care to each and every patient making sure that each was taken care of as if they were the only patient. Recognizing that few people are able to provide such quality of care while executing critical responsibilities for various patients at the same time, I knew that this was meant to be part of my calling. Far too many patients have few if any family members that come to visit them and it is a true honor to over time become a close family member to my patients. It is humbling to say the least, to earn the trust of my patients, bond with them and provide a daily source of comfort and company for them, and to ultimately give back to the elderly.
