Experience: 10 yrs
My childcare experience began as a babysitter and nanny during my college years. That soon evolved into an interest in teaching. My previous roles in childcare and teaching include: preschool TA, nanny, afterschool teacher, acting teacher, and children's theater director. I enjoy working with kids because I am fascinated by their perspective of the world. It is such a fulfilling experience to be trusted by a child and allowed to be by their side as they discover life. I also value engaging with children in a creative way that encourages imaginative play and storytelling. In my spare time you will most likely find me deep in a book or hyper focused on a sudoku puzzle. I also love cooking, writing snail mail to friends and family, and staying at the library until it closes!
We had the incredible fortune of working with Talia for four months before she had to relocate, and it’s hard to overstate how exceptional she was. She was everything we could have hoped for and more—consistently reliable, punctual, and an excellent communicator. Every day, she showed up prepared, engaged, and fully present, bringing a genuine sense of fun and joy. She built a strong, trusting relationship with our 5.5-year-old and brought a deep, authentic understanding of child development to her work. We saw meaningful growth in our child over those months—especially in emotional regulation at the end-of-day transition, which had previously been a challenge. She approached those moments with patience, insight, and consistency, and it made a real difference. Her days were thoughtfully structured around creative, age-appropriate activities that were not only enriching but genuinely delightful. Some of our child’s favorites included baking muffins together, creating a bug habitat, and building a puppet theater from scratch—projects she infused with imagination and enthusiasm. She balanced these creative experiences with plenty of outdoor time, incorporating walks and regular playground visits. She was also proactive and collaborative when it came to supporting our child through specific challenges. For example, she worked closely with us to develop a thoughtful approach to our child’s fear of dogs, helping build confidence over time in a way that felt supportive, gradual, and empowering. In addition to the care she provided, she was incredibly helpful with light housekeeping and household organization—always leaving our home tidy and often improving systems without being asked. She had an intuitive sense of what needed to be done and carried it out calmly and efficiently. Any family would be lucky to have her. We recommend her wholeheartedly!
