My husband, our toddler and I recently made the trip to Louisville to meet up with some of our closest friends and their school-aged girls for some fun on the Bourbon trail. We initially had difficulty finding a local babysitter through word of mouth and local connections, so I hopped on Care.com hoping to find someone legit, and I’m so glad I did. I connected with Sydney about watching our 3 kids (16 months, 4 y/o and 6 y/o) a few months in advance to our trip hoping to set something up so we wouldn’t have to stress about it last minute. Sydney was super responsive and more than willing to help us out. Her fee’s were more than reasonable given the number of kids and credentials were outstanding. She has tons of experience with kids of all ages and seemed really pumped to get to know us on a personal level. Also, she’s going to school for nursing, which earned extra points in our book since we are all in the healthcare field. When we arrived in Louisville, Sydney was kind enough to offer to swing by a day early just to meet us and the kids in person just to set our minds at ease. The kids instantly felt comfortable with her as she was extremely engaging with them. Sydney watched all 3 kiddos for 2 full days, during which she played with them, did art projects, learned all about Pokémon, brought them outside to run around, fed them lunch and snacks, changed poopy diapers and successfully did multiple nap times. She even offered to watch the kids on our last day so the adults could go out to dinner together before heading back home. Sydney was an absolute Godsend— she’s an excellent babysitter/nanny and will be an excellent nurse someday. She’s prompt, responsible, responsive to texts, engaging and just a very kind soul. I can’t say enough good things about her and wish we could have her as our full time babysitter in Wisconsin. <3
