About Susie

Thank you for considering me to care for your loved one. I am passionate about providing compassionate care with dignity to all ages, and especially to seniors. Everyone has a story, and I enjoy learning about a person and learning from them. Words of affirmation and letting people know they are loved and valued are a natural part of who I am. I cared for my grandmother who had dementia, and also for my mother-in-law. Over time they both experienced a decrease in mobility. I witnessed how these challenges (among others) affected the person, and also experienced how it affected the family. My professional and volunteer background is in social work, therapeutic recreation, and psychology. I have served as a mental health case manager, adult daily living skills instructor, therapist, staff at elder hostels, a Special Olympics softball coach, and also regularly provide activities at assisted living facilities.
