About Susan

My background is in case management. Though I am not a nurse or a CNA, as a case manager, I did do a fair bit of direct care. This included personal care, assistance with medication management, accompanying to the grocery store or doctor, light housekeeping, etc. I have used a Hoyer lift before, as well as other equipment and supplies. I have experience dealing with people with a variety of physical, emotional and mental issues. Additionally, I have personal experience being involved in the care of my parents, both of whom have recently passed away. My dad had dementia and my mom had congestive heart failure. My guiding philosophy of care giving is simply that I treat people the way I wanted my parents to be treated, and down the line, the way that I would want to be treated when the time comes for me to need some help. I derive a great deal of satisfaction from being of service to others and appreciate the opportunity to make new connections in the my community.
