About Susan

I've taught homeschool for 11 years and have learned and implemented many techniques in working with different types of learning styles. I'm a super hands-on on person who loves to make learning come alive! I'm creative, adaptable, and intuitive as to what children need. I'm not adverse to doing school outdoors, in a comfortable chair, or getting right down on the floor, so long as it reaches the child's level and achieves their full potential. That being said, I'm a big fan of order, stability, and desk work too, but I've worked with autistic, down syndrome, and very hyperactive children who require a different approach than "normal". Language arts, geography, history, and social studies are my forte, while science and math are my secondary strengths. I'm a natural musician and am comfortable teaching the fundamentals of it. I'm very health conscious, having studied health and wellness extensively, and sprinkle that into my teaching whenever I have the opportunity!
