About Susan

I recently came to the startling realization that my senior years will not be filled with family and I fear I will be tucked away somewhere and forgotten, with only a short visit at Christmas by my children. My life has been committed to my spouse and grandchildren, with no plans made for growing old. I always thought my husband would be "there" but he is very ill and overnight I was faced with the stark reality that I may find myself alone one day. I may not be able to fix my future, but I imagine there are many seniors living in my shoes and I would be grateful for the opportunity to make a difference in the life of someone experiencing my worst fears, desperate for someone to provide companionship, encouragement, organization, transportation and to assist with their daily hygeine and personal care or, if their health is failing, put to use experience gained while caring for my spouse in ill health, heart failure. Making a difference by serving others also helps me.
