I've worked 7 yrs in a special needs K-5 class with a variety of diagnoses, cerebral palsy, Down's syndrome, autism, seizure disorders, developmental delays, fetal alcohol syndrome, Angelman's syndrome, and a couple of other rare disorders that I've forgotten the names of. I also had a husband with ALS who was on a ventilator and g-tube. I managed his care at home for almost two years until he passed. Some of the children in the classroom also had g-tubes. For the past 4 years, I did home care as a PSW for two siblings with autism, one also had ADHD. I've learned some FloorTime methods that I often work into my work with children.
