I'm working a lot now (child care, special needs care, and transportation) but have occasional availability when the family travels or things otherwise change, and I'm available for date nights. I have years of experience as sitter & nanny. My philosophy is kindness and firmness, explanations over anger, and supporting a child's joyful exploration of life. I've worked as live-in caregiver for seniors with mobility and dementia issues, as an agency caregiver for various clients, and as a full-time in-home caregiver to a paralyzed young woman. I have experience in personal care including bathing, toileting (bedpans, commodes, catheters, and bowel program), transfers, ambulatory assistance and post-surgical care. My training was 12yrs as a Navy corpsman, where I learned excellent emergency & patient care skills. This training has been invaluable as I care for people in varying states of health and mobility. I welcome working with individuals and with families of all types and sizes.
