I'm an experienced nanny/sitter (40+ yrs) looking for short-term, occasional, and off-hours jobs. If your child is sick but you need to work, I can help. If your nanny needs time off, I can help. If your job requires a different shift or you want a date night or weekend off, I can help. I'm covid conscious and careful. My child care style is loving and fair. I bring my own books & games to augment yours, explore the outdoors and do projects in the kitchen (a 3y/o can stir brownie batter). Children are individuals with their own wants, needs, and ways of interacting; I learn each child's ways and respond accordingly. With babies, all I do is love them; they only need to learn that the world is a safe & loving place. I embrace families of all types & support attachment parenting. Non-smoking homes. We hired Susan to take care of our 1-year-old for two weeks while our daycare provider was on vacation. Working from home, I got a good up-close view at her style, which was nurturing and fun! She was good at keeping him occupied with books, games and trips to the park, and quickly earned our toddler's trust. She learned about the way we do things in our house fast and was responsive whenever we asked for something. I would absolutely recommend her!

Susan has been an amazing nanny to our toddler. She normally works every other week, but she had the flexibility to step up and take more shifts or watch our child or even dogs (!) over some weekends or weekdays as needs arose. She is kind and caring. It is quite clear that she loves spending time with our toddler: she walks into our house in the morning with a smile on her face, excited to begin a new day with our child. And our daughter gets just as excited when she hears that nanny Susan is about to come. What I love about Susan in particular is that she exposes our toddler to a great deal of new language. Susan is a walking encyclopedia of all sorts of interesting facts that she peppers her conversation throughout the day. She also often uses words that most people do not normally use in everyday conversation, thereby helping my child build a larger vocabulary. I cannot recommend her highly enough.

Susan became part of my life when her daughter and I became friends in fourth grade.  Susan quickly became a second mother to me. I always felt safe and well cared for in her home. I remember spending many afternoons at her house participating in baking experiments and going to the library (she played a key role in me developing a love for books).  I was and still am always amazed by Susan's wealth of knowledge and could listen to her stories for hours. Now twenty years later I still love and trust Susan. I have seen her interact with many children including my own and I have come to find she is one of those people that children instinctively trust. I truly believe any child would be lucky to have Susan as a caregiver.

Susan was not the first caregiver I had hired. I am recovering from something that paralyzed me temporarily. I am used to people not matching their resumes, but with her it was the opposite. She could do everything I needed, plus she was open to talking, watching TV with me, anything that came up. At that point I wasn't walking at all and she was great with changing diapers and I have an ileostomy bag and she already knew how to take care of it.

Susan is the mother of a friend. When she heard I was having major surgery and was looking for someone to help with personal care we agreed she would be a great fit. As a 26 yr old male who hadn't experienced intimate personal care since I was little, I was nervous going in but Susan was professional and put me at ease. Post-surgery, I had a bad reaction to the medication and needed much more personal care than anyone expected. Susan was capable and efficient in dealing with my symptoms and foley catheter, as well as sensitive to my physical and emotional comfort. Her positivity and sense of humor made me smile even when I was feeling physically the worst. While I did end up in emergency, I have no doubt that I would have spent much more time there without Susan's help. In addition, my parents can get really emotionally worked up and I thankful she helped them feel less overwhelmed and zeroed out any emotional spiral.

I am so grateful for everything. It was a very trying time and I can't imagine what we would have done without her. Thank you Susan!!

Susan worked for me watching my 4 minor children and basically running my household when I was a single divorced father with 50% custody and a busy work schedule.  I trust her implicitly and she formed a close and caring bond with my children, from age 3 to 15 at the time.  The reason she is not working with my family any longer is I got remarried and did not have a need for a nanny any longer.  But Susan is a top-notch caregiver and I would unhesitatingly employ her again, whether to care for children or elderly.  Highly recommended.

I first met Susan when we were training for Social Work for our county just over 15 years ago. We were co-workers together for a few years and became very close friends ever since. I have watched as Susan has done everything from County Social Work to childcare and elder care with people with disabilities, both mental and physical. I would trust Susan in working with anyone. I have trusted Susan. When I was hit with a devastating illness and was hospitalized in intensive care for several months, Susan was the one who took my young daughter's home and cared for them while I was in the hospital. I highly recommend Susan in any care taking job. She is the most giving, caring, loving caregiver you will be lucky to find.
