About Susan

Susan was the full-time nanny for our son for almost 4 years. Susan has a calm, friendly, and polite demeanor and she is an expert with babies and young children. She is extremely trustworthy, reliable and hardworking. During her time with us, Susan treated our son’s health and safety as her number one priority. She also facilitated his growth and development in countless ways through her thoughtful care and attention. For example, Susan spent hours each day talking, reading and singing with/to our son from infancy onward. Susan also dedicated time every day to teaching him his numbers, letters, colors, and shapes using blocks, puzzles and magna-tiles. By the time he entered full time preschool, he could count to 20, recognized upper and lower case letters, and grasped early math concepts like sorting and patterns. Susan also took our son to a playground or for a walk outside on any day that the weather permitted. She maintains a network of fellow nannies in the neighborhood, and our son played with kids from this group. Her efforts have made him both active and social -- he enthusiastically participates in a number of sports and easily makes friends in new situations. Susan introduced our son to his first solid foods and as he grew she prepared fresh, wholesome meals for him featuring foods like salmon, tofu, and veggies. As a result of her homemade cooking, he eats a wide variety of healthy foods (for a preschooler, at least). On a logistical level, Susan was always punctual, arriving by 8:00 am each weekday. She gave us ample notice for rare days off. And, as our son grew older, she would also assist with household chores like laundry, dishes and cleaning his room. In short, Susan's thoughtful care and nurturing attention facilitated growth and development our son's early years, and also was a crucial source of help for two busy working parents. We give her our wholehearted recommendation.
