About Susan

My approach to child development invokes clear boundaries, using humorous & positive language to attain desired behaviors guided by family rules. Safety is the priority: helmets, car seats and feet on the ground. Montessori training (ages 3-6), nurturing curiosity and natural wonder in children of varying abilities is my passion. Every day occurrences and objects can be used to inspire creativity & an innate love for learning and personal expression. I value the importance of excellent nutrition, daily down time (sans electronics) combining inside play and copious outside exploration. For infants/newborns, I do timed activity rotations with visual, tactile and physical stimulation. I believe in the calming effect of predictability in sleep/eat/play cycles for this age. *My hourly rate varies between is $25-35. Currently working toward a Newborn Specialist certificate to further a passion helping new parents navigate the first months with confidence and sleep!
