About Susan

Hello families, my name is Susan! I am an Elementary credentialed teacher from CSUDH. I've taught First grade at a Catholic school in Anaheim and as a Substitute teacher for K-6 at PYLUSD for over 11 years. During summers and holidays I tutored K-3 students in reading, comprehension, writing and math. Most recently, I've worked as an Instructional Aide/tutor for PYLUSD for grades 1-3 and 5th for 5 years. The best part of tutoring and working with small groups is seeing how much children can learn and grow. For the past 3 years I've been tutoring in-home with children and it's rewarding when I can help instill confidence in them and see them make progress. When tutoring, I work with the student's teachers, the district and parents like you, to provide relevant, practical lessons, using many resources for the best possible instruction. In my personal life, I enjoy cooking with my 2 girls, spending time with family and friends, reading and yoga.
