My experience was first hand, taking care of my mother & dad while they were at home. They both entered dependent full nursing care. My dad couldn't leave his bed and needed his legs exercised daily. I know I have that extra ability to bring cheerfulness and comfort to someone depending on care. I am dependable & ethical. I love being needed and I'm able to communicate in a loving way with a caring tone and not condescending in tone. Being busy with chores of the patient is my focus and listening to their conversation and needs to find a common interest. We are all so different as we mature through aging or recovery. I have a sister with dementia and have a better understanding of compassion with patience. It's not easy, but we keep trying. On file clean BCI & MVR.
