About Susan

I'm a former teacher-middle and high school English, plus a year in 2nd grade. I was the assistant director of a tutoring center that used to be in Grosse Pointe (Kenniss Academics) for a few years. I homeschooled my son (now a senior, graduating 3rd in husband class, with a 4. 0 unweighted GPA) for 2 years of middle school during the COVID pandemic. My specialty is teaching middle & high school writing, including college application essay guidance and assistance. I am also passionate about helping younger students learn and master reading basics, and guiding them to become stronger, more confident readers. Additionally, I am able to help with basic study skills and test prep strategies. I am available primarily on weekends, but if clients are willing to meet in/near Chesterfield, I can usually arrange some evening sessions on weeknights.
