I have been a special needs teaching assistant and then teacher for 20 years. I have worked with special needs people ages 5-32 years old. I have also been a part time in home caregiver to a special needs young man who is 28 years old now. He is wheelchair bound and needs help with all aspects of care (bathing, dressing, changing diapers, tube feeding and meds) I have been his caregiver for 10 years and will continue to work with him on weekends. I have a lot of patience and love caring for people. I value being a positive, encouraging and loving part of their life. So although I have not worked with the senior population, I feel I have skills that I can use to provide a safe, caring and interactive atmosphere for your loved one. I am confident that I can learn how to care for your special person.
