About Steve

I've been in the U. S. for almost two years, and worked a few retail and temporary jobs, before studying to be a CNA. I have only one year of paid caregiving experience in the U. S. But I had seven years of volunteer caregiving experience in Africa. I most recently worked at an assisted living facility, but would love to give care in a home-based setting. I always saw the humanity in my elderly patients and treated them with respect and dignity as if they were my own relatives, and I would do the same for a person of any age. I haven't yet done caregiving for children, but I taught elementary school for a year, and I also taught English to children as a volunteer. My long term goal is to become a nurse. My work experience prior to the U. S. included being an interpreter for a UN agency, a teacher, teaching English to both children and adults and being a volunteer caregiver and a volunteer organizer. I am deeply motivated toward excellence and want to make a difference wherever I go.
