I am currently double majoring in Psychology and Human Development with a concentration in child and adolescent development at a well known and prestigious university. I am scheduled to graduate in May. I have over six years experience in the field of childcare. I am knowledgeable in areas of Autism Spectrum Disorder, intellectual disabilities, and developmental delays. Related Experience: Local speech and hearing center; field study student. * Observing how the center interacts with other nonprofits, learning more about the range of individuals and diagnostic categories seen by Speech-Language Pathologists, reading articles on areas of interest and discussing these with field study supervisor (a Speech-Language Pathologist), observing speech/language evaluations and/or treatment at two daycare's and at the center, as well as observing audiologists at the center. Child development center for learning and research support staff & field study student. * Promoting a rich learning environment for children ages 3-5 years through constant social interactions in the classroom while following the Reggio Emilia teaching philosophy. * Responsibilities include but not limited to, leading investigations with the children, reading stories, creating portfolio pages in the five domains of development (cognitive, language, sensory, socio-emotional, and physical) for the children, fully participating in play with the children with everything from dramatic play to block construction, soothing/comforting children during nap time, and cleaning up the classroom at the end of the day.
