About Stephanie

I'm a special education teacher from North Carolina. I'd like to spend my summer working near family in California. I have 20+ years experience in elementary special education working with students of all types of abilities and needs. I'm a mother to three boys, one with ADHD and autism who is now in college. I can provide references a from supervisors, colleagues, and families of students. I'd describe my personality as creative, patient, and positive. I like working with kids because I love to see the lightbulb come on when a skill clicks. I'm looking for a job for the summer that allows me to share my talents outside of a formal classroom. I started working with kids when I started babysitting at 14. In my spare time, I like to read, do crafts, walk, and work in the garden. One thing you should know about me is that after 20+ years as a teacher, I still love helping kids learn and grow.
