About Stephanie

We spoke to and interviewed Stephanie on several occasions. She came to our home and met our children. We discussed in great detail the job expectations and hourly rate. Every aspect was covered on our end to avoid any misunderstandings. She stated she was very excited about the position we were offering but asked for more money. We agreed to pay her what she was asking. We also explained to her that we wanted her to be open and honest with us if she had an issues or wasn't clear on where things were to go in the beginning. We were seeking someone to be with us for many years to come. We also explained this to her and that we didn't want a revolving door of assistants in our home. She agreed and stated she wanted this to be a stable full time position, we obliged. She informed us she was going on a vacation with family that was previously planned and then also asked us to give her two weeks to allow her current job to find other accommodations. This was the first time we heard about her being currently employed elsewhere. When we found this out we asked her again if she was sure she wanted the job we were offering since we were unaware she was currently employed. She claimed the current job was not enough for her and not what she wanted to do. She said she wanted the job we were offering, that it was exactly what she was looking for and that we seemed like a perfect fit. She begged us to give her the opportunity. A couple of days after our interview, we offered her the position. She accepted and thanked us profusely, exclaiming she was so excited! As were we. She then revealed she was having surgery, then needed a week to recover, then was going on vacation and lastly needed to allow her current employer to find a replacement. She wanted to start a little over a month after we hired her. While we wanted someone to start asap, she seem to check all the boxes for us and so we agreed to give her the time she asked for. Due to her guaranteeing she would start on a specific date, we informed our current assistant at the time we had found someone to replace her. She was aware we were needing someone full time and would be looking for someone. However Stephanie contacted me about two weeks after we hired her and two weeks before she was due to start for us that she would be staying at her current job! When I informed her that we had already told the woman we had hired someone full time and that we did so because she gave us her word. She read the text but never even responded! What we have experienced was extremely unsettling. She didn't honor her word and did this via text. Based on another review we are not the first family for her to leave high and dry.
