I grew up with a brother with autism who was nonverbal and had a communication device. For numerous years, I provided care with hygiene, toileting, and light meal prep. I also took him to activities that he enjoys, such as the zoo, Little Amerricka, Duck rides up at the WI Dells, and so much more. In addition to my years of experience, I also previously taught ABA to an individual with nonverbal autism and nannied for a summer to another individual. I also worked at Shepherds College as a paraprofessional, where I worked with numerous adults with a variety of disabilities for four years. I managed behaviors in the classroom and taught job skills and self-regulation. I also did fun activities with the students when the school planned them. Currently, I still work with individuals with disabilities at my current job as a personal trainer and fitness instructor. I love spending time with individuals with disabilities 1-on-1 doing activities they enjoy.
