About Stephanie

I am a former Kindergarten and 1st grade licensed teacher of 7 years. I have 11+ years experience as a Para Educator including SPED units, a Kindergarten Assistant and a Resource Para for grades K-6. I have 5+ years experience with one-on-one tutoring mostly with students in grades K-3. I have also worked in summer camps for kids doing arts, crafts and games. Learning to read, write and do basic math should be fun. I believe in using multi-sensory methods as much as possible. In addition to reading books, and doing math problems and writing on paper, I like to use games, manipulatives, songs, and body movements to increase their abilities. I believe in being a cheer leader for students. Progress may move slowly at times, but I feel it's very important to recognize and celebrate all success, no matter how small. In order for children to make progress, they must be able to have confidence that they can be successful.
