I have had a lot of experience working with children who have special needs. I started volunteering in an intensive special needs elementary school class while I was in high school and later went on to work in the school system in a variety of classroom settings. I have five years of experience working in a day habilitation with adults who have developmental and physical disabilities. I also worked at Perkins School For The Blind with students who had multiple diagnoses. Working with children who have special needs has been something I've been passionate about for as long as I can remember. Aside from my work experience, being married to a Deaf person has really opened my eyes and taught me a whole host things about the Deaf community and other communities of people living with disabilities.
