About Soraya

Eleven years ago, my grandfather came to live at my parents house with my younger siblings and parents. It was odd to have him around since 75% of my life, I had only talked to him over the phone. But once I got to know him, I loved to spend every minute with him. I loved when he talked about the past like when I was a little baby. I would take him to the doctor and sometimes I had to miss or be late to work because I'd rather stay with him, making sure he was fed and showered. I love my papa Tin; he was the best. Sometimes I would take him to the library, where he would like to sit during story time, or to Venice Beach or the swapmeet at the mall; anything sometimes to not be alone and bored. It was almost like taking care of a child. I had to set a timer on his watch and on my phone for his medications to be taken correctly. Unfortunately, he passed away this past June of many causes and I wish every day he could have been here longer. He was 82 years old.
