About Sophie

Sophie was our nanny for just over 1.5 years caring for our daughter from 6mo to 2 years until we relocated cities for our jobs. It was an absolute blessing to have such a loving and thoughtful caregiver take care of our baby, and it was a true privilege getting to know Sophie, who became part of our family. Sophie was very professional in all aspects of her role. She kept to the schedule we had set up and logged all naps and meals as requested. She planned engaging activities that were age appropriate to stimulate our baby - I was always impressed with her creativity, energy, enthusiasm and passion. Examples include planning outings to the zoo, library, gymnastics, and indoor gyms, and also indoor activities like balance beams and introduction to various musical instruments. Sophie was very knowledgeable about child development and had excellent advice. I felt comfortable to ask for advice when I was unsure of what to do but I also felt comfortable to disagree and know that she always respected our parenting approach even if she didn't agree with it. In addition to normal day to day duties, Sophie was exceptional in difficult situations too. When our daughter broke her collarbone at the pool (on my watch at the weekend), we had to go to the hospital on a weekday. Sophie came with me and helped me calm the toddler down during X-rays and helped set up her sling. She remained calm as our baby went through growing leaps and teething spurts, fevers and runny noses, testing boundaries and throwing food phases - Sophie handled all of that in stride, with grace and a big, warm smile. I highly recommend Sophie as a caregiver to any family. She exceeded all expectations and surprised me with so much more help and support that I didn't expect. We would work with her in a heartbeat again if we were in the same city.
