About Sophie

We are so grateful for Sophie! She’s been our part-time, in-home nanny for our little guy for almost one year, starting when J was just six months old. J is learning so much during his time with Sophie and has blossomed into a smart and confident young toddler. When Sophie arrives at our house, J is SO excited and greets her just as he does a family member. It’s clear to see that he is comfortable with Sophie and trusts her as a caregiver - as do we! Sophie has helped J with lots of skills, including taking “deep breaths” when he is upset and/or nearing a tantrum. We credit a lot of J’s development to his one-on-one time with Sophie. As a young professional, Sophie is responsible and communicative. She is proactive in discussing planned time off, federal holiday plans, and sick time. I’ve appreciated how open and honest she is if she’s not feeling well and wants to keep our family healthy. I think in the past year, she has been “late” one time and she communicated her tardiness - literally two minutes past her normal start time! Sophie has been with us through a lot of transition. She started when J was six months old and we were living with family, anxiously awaiting for home renovations to be completed. And even when we finally moved to our new house, it was very much in transition (i.e. no furniture) and she handled it without missing a step. We are fortunate to have family nearby to help with childcare, but if we didn’t - I wouldn’t hesitate to hire Sophie full-time. And, she even handles our high-energy dog!
