About Sophie

Hello! My name is Sophie and I'm from Santa Barbara, CA. I have been a childcare provider for 3 years as both a nanny and swim instructor. My additional training includes a professional rescuing license, lifeguard, first aid, blood-borne pathogens training and CPR/AED certifications (which I will happily provide if asked!). I have worked with infants to teenagers, both in the pool and on land. A little about me and how I approach childcare: I attended art schools all my life and use the skills I've learned to encourage self expression and aid fine motor skills through outlets of their choice. I have worked with kids with mental and physical disabilities as well as mental illness and feel comfortable providing care. I prioritize children's safety and comfort regarding play and enrichment. I love movies, swimming, reading, music and analog filmmaking! I have a variety of practical skills such as guitar, sewing and cooking that I am more than happy to teach.
