About Sophie

Hello! My name is Sophie, I am 24 years old. I am looking to nanny part time! Read my FAQ to see if we'd be a good match! I have been a babysitter/caregiver since I was 11 years old. I love interacting with children; their curiosity and perspective of the world, their creativity and imagination, and the way that they challenge you to see things from their point of view. I love teaching children new things almost as much as when they do the teaching themselves! I also work in catering at the Multnomah Athletic Club, so open communication about scheduling would be great! In my spare time, I like to throw on some good 70's music in my studio and experiment with art mediums! For the past few years I've been caretaking for my grandfather who has progressing dementia. This has taught me so much, but mainly how to remain patient and understanding. I've also learned to redirect attention to avoid meltdowns; suggesting another activity, being positive and sympathetic through big emotions.
