About Sophia

Hello, my name is Sophia and I'm a sophomore at UGA. In high school, I tutored children ages 6-13 in math, science, reading, and ELA. Now, I am on my second year working as a camp counselor for County Therapeutic Recreation Services. This program offers specialized, inclusive recreational activities for individuals with developmental and physical disabilities ages 8-21. I'd describe my personality as compassionate, ambitious, and adaptable. I like working with kids because they're curious and bring amazing perspective to the world. I enjoy being able to make a positive impact in their lives that they can hopefully carry on with them in the future. In my spare time, I like to read, bake, go on walks, and volunteer at animal shelters. One thing you should know about me is that I am adaptable based on the needs of the kids. My experience working with individuals with special needs expanded my ability to communicate patiently and think quickly.
