About Sophia

Hi! I'm Sophia, a 20-year-old New Yorker with years of childcare experience ranging from infants to age 10. Most recently I've been caring for a 7-year-old and a 10-month-old, and I previously worked as an au pair in Italy. I love taking kids outside, doing art projects, and making everyday moments fun. I work with kids because they have a way of being completely themselves! No filter, no judgment and I find that grounding. Every kid I've cared for has reminded me to see the world a little more openly. I'm looking for a family that values open communication and offers consistency with the children over time. I started babysitting at a young age and never stopped. For the past two years I've cared for a 9-year-old girl with Down syndrome, including NYS training to meet her specific needs. In my spare time I love being outside, writing, and anything art or music related. Curious by nature I love to travel and explore wherever I am.
