About Sophia

I've always enjoyed helping people understand things, whether it's something I learned in school or something I'm figuring out alongside them. I graduated with a degree in Biochemistry and have experience as a teaching assistant, and I'm currently continuing my education in Nuclear Medicine. I love all things science and math, but I also enjoy English and composition. I also have younger siblings in elementary, middle, and high school, so I'm constantly finding little ways to teach, explain, or help them work through something. That's probably where a lot of my love for encouraging students comes from. I believe that if you're trying, that's what matters most. I don't expect students to know everything right away, and I never want someone to feel embarrassed for asking questions or getting something wrong. I'm patient, positive, and I love finding different ways to explain something until it finally clicks.
