About Sophia
Thank you for considering me as you look to find the best tutor for your child's needs. While this is my first foray into tutoring, I have spent years of my professional life as a leader and mentor in various environments. I have led and taught Shakespeare camps for kids from 8-12yrs, worked as a teaching artist in Prison Performing Arts programs, led horseback rides for hours through the mountains, taught yoga for six years to adults of all abilities, and assisted a 4 yr old through online Montessori. With a rigorous educational background (BFA from Webster Conservatory and partial MFA from UC Irvine) I am prepared to assist and guide your student in their coursework. I am a curious and caring person, with a deep passion for storytelling. I look forward to helping your child thrive.
Most recent review
Sophia was fantastic with my daughter, D. She was attentive to her learning needs, communicative with me, reliable, and incredibly creative with lesson plans. D. has never been so engaged in literature! I'm so thrilled that Sophia has laid a strong foundation for my daughter's academic future— I could not have done it without her.
