About Sonya

Hello! I'm Sonya, a special education teacher with approximately 10 years of experience supporting students with diverse learning needs. I hold a bachelor's degree in Applied Behavior Analysis and a master's degree in Special Education. I provide patient, individualized tutoring in reading, writing, math, functional academics, and study skills. I adapt lessons to each student's learning style, break difficult concepts into manageable steps, and use positive behavior supports to build confidence and independence. I have experience working with students with autism, intellectual and developmental disabilities, communication challenges, and behavioral needs. My goal is to create an encouraging learning environment where every student can experience success and make meaningful progress.
