About Sonja

I'm a mom of five with a BA in Special Needs/Learning Disabilities and additional education and training in ESL. Between my educational background, classroom experience, and years of helping my own children with school and homework, I've learned how much difference the right individualized approach can make. I adapt to how each child learns, using visual and hands-on approaches, real-world examples, and personal interests. When something feels overwhelming, I break it into manageable steps, celebrate progress, and build confidence along with academic skills. As both a parent and educator, I value communication and collaboration with families. I especially love seeing a child go from "I can't do this" to that wonderful "aha!" moment when something finally clicks. My goal is to provide patient, encouraging support that helps children feel capable and confident about learning.
