I'd describe my personality as caring, empathetic fun. I like caring for seniors because they deserve to be cared for and I would hope someone would care enough to extend that grace to me one day. I'm looking for a job that offers me flexibility and the satisfaction of making a difference in the life of an elder. I started caring for seniors when my father had a sudden stroke in 1993. I recently lost my mother. I worked for a home care agency after I retired from the government in 2020. In my spare time, I like to spend time with my family, travel, shop for antiques, refinish and build furniture, and cook. One thing you should know about me is I have a wonderful sense of humor, but I'm very serious when it matters. My skills include dementia care, gait belt, bathing (bed and shower), medication management, incontinence care, light housekeeping and meal prep.
