I have worked as an activities assistant, as well as many years directly providing daily care to seniors (shopping, bathing, dressing). I cared for an elderly friend of my husband, I took him in and went through his chemotherapy journey with him, as well as his hospice and end of life transition. My family has and my mother still operates her own Adult Foster Care Home in Michigan, where I grew up, living with seniors within my household. She provides 24/HR service for 5, mostly dementia/alzheimers needs. My grandmother, lived right next door, cared for 4, 40+YRS, and I tell people that there were two ladies, jumping for phone, anticipating my birth.
