About Sofia

Hi! I am Sofia. I recently graduated from the University of Vermont with a major in Human Development and Family Sciences and a minor in Childhood Studies. I have numerous years of childcare experience, with the most recent being three years of paid childcare working as a preschool teacher in Shelburne. I prioritize creating and maintaining stable, warm, and responsive connections with young children. In working with young children, I aim to facilitate healthy development by fostering a sense of relational closeness that supports autonomous play and exploration. By participating in and supporting children's development, I, too, learn and grow alongside children's innate need to explore and seek connection. I'm especially passionate about creating environments where children feel safe, understood, and encouraged to be themselves.
