About Skyler

Skyler has cared for my four young children, ages 2, 5, 6, and 8, on numerous occasions. I can’t say enough good things about her. She meets children where they are, with a remarkable balance of playfulness, creative education, and firm guidance when needed. She’s equally adept at handling one child or a whole group of them. I’ve enjoyed watching her effortlessly get the attention of a loud, chaotic bunch of kids — “If you can hear me, clap your hands!” — and then proceed to guide them into a shared activity that they all enjoy, whether it’s a game of hide and seek, watercolor painting, or even just a conversation about their favorite animal. When kids ask questions, she actually listens and then asks thought-provoking questions in return. I can tell that she gets personal satisfaction from seeing children learn. Beyond her ability to connect with children, what stands out to me is how responsible, safety-conscious, and communicative Skyler is. As we were getting to know each other, she would regularly check in with me about what things I was comfortable with, what foods the kids could eat, and what rules I had for them, all of which gave me great peace of mind; I fully trust her judgment when it comes to the calls I’m not there to make. She’s also a ton of fun to be around, even for adults! I always enjoy our conversations and have shared many laughs with her. So if you’re considering inviting Skyler into your home to care for your children, you’d be hard pressed to find a more respectful, qualified, caring, and genuinely good human being.
