We hope to find our amazing nanny a wonderful, new family. Simone literally saved our lives when she started caring for my colicky son at 4 months old. She was the only person who could calm him down and help us establish a feeding and napping routine. As anxious first-time parents, we interviewed over fifteen nannies before meeting Simone, and we instantly knew she was the one. Simone has over twenty years of experience and is a consummate professional - she instantly brought order to our chaotic life. Most importantly, Simone made sure that our son was constantly learning, reading to him from her first day with us, teaching him new skills, organizing play dates, taking him to all of his classes and appointments, and making sure he had a broad range of activities. Simone is incredibly energetic, caring and warm, and I can't recommend her highly enough. We will miss her greatly as our son transitions to preschool, but know that the right family will be very lucky to have her.

Simone has worked with our family for nearly two years. When she joined us in the early 
winter of 2014, I was pregnant with my second child and my 2-year-old was running me 
into the ground. We had some part-time help from a younger, mother s helper but my 
daughter had become increasingly difficult with this other caregiver, throwing tantrums 
whenever she arrived or was asked to do anything other than what she wanted to do. We 
really needed someone with a calm and confident sensibility to defuse the stressful flare-ups. Simone was then the full-time caregiver for our dear family friends, but her hours there were changing. She joined us for two half-days a week and I couldn't have been happier to have her around. She calmly redirected my daughter s tantrums and helped bring a sense of ease to the days when she was here. Even better: she was always on time. 

When my son arrived in April 2014, Simone blended seamlessly into the crazy newborn 
phase of life. She has training as a baby nurse and it showed. She effortlessly transitioned 
from taking shifts consoling a wailing newborn to engaging my daughter so I could nurse and nap in peace. When my son had days when cried for seven hours at a time, Simone was calm and patient with me and with him. When I had no idea what to do, she offered gentle advice and was never once judgmental or overly prescriptive with her guidance. 

During the time Simone was with us, I was in the process of leaving my part-time job to spend more time at home and, unlike other caregivers I have met over the years, she was always good-natured about making it possible to come in and out of the house while the kids were around, even during their most clingy phases. Now, at 18 months, my son clings to Simone instead of me on some days. Hard as that may be on a mother, it's also reassuring to know that he feels safe and well cared for on Simone s watch. For a household with a new baby, Simone is a truly wonderful person to have around! As a nice plus, I always come home to a tidy playroom, the kids  laundry is folded, and the dishes have been cleaned up. She is very punctual too!

I am writing this letter as a strong recommendation for Simone Caballero, who was been our children s nanny since January 2011. 

Simone, or "Monie" as my kids call her, has been a loving presence in our home since my son was 3 months-old. We interviewed over 20 candidates, and after we met Simone I told my husband that she was perfect. Not only did I recognize her strong experience caring for children given the glowing reviews from her previous employers, but I also saw her as someone I would look forward to seeing each morning and night. She has a kind and easy manner and is very loving and affectionate with kids. Four years later, Simone has been with us through thick and thin, most notably when she took care of my son, my newborn daughter, and my exhausted self during my second maternity leave. Although we initially needed her only 3 days a week for my job, we soon hired her full-time once we realized how special she was. I don t think we could have managed having 2 children if Simone had not been there to get us through feeding issues, difficult developmental stages, and transitions to school. 

My children are now ages 2 and 4, and both see her as part of the family. She's cared for them when they were sick, helped navigate my son's initial preschool anxiety by arranging play dates with classmates, and been game for any class/activity I signed my kids up for. Simone is very active in her own life, and I always knew my kids were getting outside whenever possible. She was incredibly flexible with any ideas I had, offering advice gleaned from her vast experience when needed but also staying open-minded to my parenting philosophies. She has an incredible integrity and work ethic (never ever late, took 1 sick day in 4 years), and she's incredibly honest. My son's report of each day (he's a talker) always matched Simone's. All these years later, she'll still text me each day with pictures and updates. I've never worry about my kids when she's with them.

A special memory I have of Simone is when my son, then an infant, had a horrible stomach bug while I was stuck at work all day. It was awful to be away from him, but Simone managed doctor appointments, phone calls with me and the physician throughout the day, and hydrating my son so that he could get better as quickly as possible. This was all done with no complaint despite the fact that he had thrown up on her multiple times throughout the day. I came home to find him sleeping soundly and comfortably on her shoulder while she rocked him calmly.  There are many memories like this one, but I thought this would provide a sense of her dedication and affection for the little ones she cares for. 

Simone has recently decided to complete her college degree and is taking night classes. Since I work in the evenings, our schedules no longer align. I would love for her to find a loving family. She would prefer to work with a newborn/infant if possible. She is available Mondays-Fridays from 8am-6pm or 9am- 7pm, so most families would likely be able to accommodate her schedule. I just happen to work particularly late hours.
