About Shyla

Hi! My passion for working with children began early because my mom has run an in-home daycare since I was in elementary school. I have over 10 years of experience caring for babies as young as 6 months through school-aged kids. I am a graduate student at Baylor University studying School Psychology and work part time as a substitute teacher. I recently graduated from UC San Diego with degrees in Psychology and Human Developmental Sciences, where I worked as a paraprofessional supporting students with autism, learning disabilities, and behavioral challenges. I have also mentored high school students on college applications, scholarships, and career exploration. I love bringing fun, creative activities that make learning meaningful and am happy to help with errands or household tasks. Above all, I strive to create a warm, patient, and engaging environment where every child feels valued and supported.
