Hello! My name is Shulammite, and I'm a CPS Substitute, Kindermusik Instructor, and professional group/private music instructor (piano, violin, guitar, and voice) for students 6mos to adult. I am actively teaching 20+ private music students and am pleased to offer both in-person lessons and childcare services during this time. Please contact for availability! I hold a BA in Communication from the University of Illinois with a specialty in interpersonal communication. I am currently a graduate student with Berklee Online (studying Songwriting), and I am deeply committed to offering warm, fun, safe, and stimulating environments to children in their most impressionable years. We worked with Shulmitte for three wonderful years (August 2022 to August 2025), and she became such an important part of our kids’ lives. We have five children, and Shulmitte tutored four of them (then ages 4 to 9) in ELA, math, and occasional piano and violin. She helped the younger ones through flashcards and multiple levels of Hooked on Phonics, and our oldest read many classic chapter books with her. In math, she supported everything from basic addition to long division and fractions. She also helped them stay on top of their homework. She was great at adjusting each day based on what the kids needed: academics, music instruction, homework help, or simply matching their energy. Sessions usually ranged from 30 minutes to an hour per child, and she handled each of our kids' lessons with patience, humor, and care. In addition to tutoring, Shulmitte helped our family with school pickup, tidying, and general childcare. She played with the kids at parks/swimming pools, played games with them, and encouraged creative art projects as well. Shulmmite is reliable, flexible, and very easy to communicate with. She often stayed for long shifts, and was happy to work with our family’s rhythm. Our kids made steady progress with her, and we always felt they were in caring hands. We’re grateful for all she’s brought to our home and would highly recommend her to any family looking for a warm, dependable tutor or caregiver.
