About Shonda

I have loved the elderly and working with them since I was about 13. My grandfather was in the nursing home and that is what got me started. I would see him and then go off with one of the nurses to help her with all the other patients. At 18 I went and got my CNA certification and went back to the nursing home he was at and worked. I realized after about 8 yrs that I couldn't help them all there and tried to do home care on my own for a while. Then went and tried the nursing home again and once again realized that I couldn't help all of them and that to a lot of them they were just a number and a paycheck. They didn't have a name or anything and so I decided to start doing home care. I love working with the elderly. I have dealt with everything from Alzheimer dementia to paraplegic to walking and stability to heart and lung issues and just about everything in between. I believe if it wasn't for the elderly we wouldn't be here. They are how we got here.
