About Shirley

I am currently a PhD student who is patient, curious, and loves kids. I will admit that I haven't had too much childcare experience--mostly Sunday School teaching for a year and taking care of young cousins as a teenager. My work allows me to explore my curiosity about the world but there is something about watching kids at different ages, discovering things and their excitement. I also know it's not always sunshine and roses. Kids get hungry, tired, grumpy, and angry, and I will be there for all of it. I can cook and clean, and I'm open to running small errands. I'm punctual and reliable. If I'm not available, I'll communicate with you beforehand. I love to read, take walks along the river, sing, and spend time with friends. I also love attending the opera, ballet, and orchestral performances. I've lived in New York for six years and I love it here! If you have any questions about me, feel free to reach out.
