About Shelly
While I have no paid experience in caring for the elderly, I did help take care of my stepmom who suffered with Parkinson's disease and dementia. This included companionship, mobility assistance, attending medical appointments, feeding, and toileting. I also assisted with helping get her into and out of bed and positioning her in bed. Additionally, I later helped care for my dad through his battle with leukemia. This consisted of medication and appointment management, attending medical appointments and hospital stays, transportation to/from appointments, meal prep and laundry. As his disease progressed, I assisted getting him into and out of bed and sliding him into the appropriate position. I love the elderly, and helping take care of them is an honor.
