About Shelley

I am a mother of one, but an aunt of 13 children of whom I've cared for, while growing up, on several occasions, and had a hand in raising. One of my accomplishments in life would be coaching both my niece's t-ball teams for two different seasons. I have a genuine love for and fascination with children. I believe they are all unique and special and each require different forms of nurturing. Most of my work experience is with seniors, but I have filled in for various nanny positions. I am CPR and first aid certified. I am fun, energetic, athletic, and extremely family oriented. I do volunteer work with my church, and my husband and I spend our free time supporting our 16-year-old son's love of sports; football, baseball, and dirt bike racing. I am a baseball and football booster mom. We also enjoy camping some weekends at the races. I like to run and will occasionally compete in 5Ks.

Shelley was a Godsend to me and my father in the last year of his life. My dad was a particularly challenging person to work with as he suffered from both Parkinson's Disease and Parkinson's Disease dementia. A smart and stubborn man, he fell frequently and needed to be constantly monitored. Shelley took it all in stride. She understood that he needed to have dignity and made him laugh when he was being feisty. She challenged some of the care being given at the facility where he was living but contacted me with issues first, so I always knew that his care was her number one priority. Shelley was tireless in making sure that my dad was groomed and happy. She understood his moods and his rhythms well and knew when to make him participate and when to leave him alone. I always felt that my beloved father was in the care of a relative when he was with Shelley. I know that she bonds very well with the people she cares for and believe that you would have an advocate for your loved one if you hire Shelley to be your caregiver.
