Hello, I am a certified Barton Reading Tutor. I tutor children with dyslexia, as well as other children who struggle with spelling. They have trouble retaining their spelling words from one week to the next and they have difficulty spelling when writing sentences or stories - not even those high-frequency words like because, friend, and does. My students can all read up to a point, yet they have great difficulty sounding out an unknown word despite being taught phonics. The program I use utilizes the Orton Gillingham method, it's called Barton Reading & Spelling System. It is 100% online and very effective. I use a lot of games and fun activities to engage my students and make tutoring fun!
