About shelby

My experience with childcare started when I was a child myself! My mom ran an in-home daycare for a decade and I learned so much from her. From middle school to high school years, I volunteered in children's ministry at my church, working with ages 3-13 years old. During college I served as the lead Sunday school teacher at a small church. After graduating undergrad I worked as a residential supervisor at a boarding school for high school girls while attending grad school for clinical psychology. During my internship, I worked in-home with developmentally delayed children ages newborn to 8 years old. Following grad school I was a mental health therapist in a private practice, then a hospital working with both children and adults in each setting. Currently, I work as a therapist with adult adults only. While my training and skills as a therapist bleed into most areas of my life, I want to be clear that my role in any babysitting position would be strictly home/childcare!
