After living with my grandparents for 4 years, I have gained a deep love and honor for our older generation. Both my grandparents experienced being bedridden their last year of life and I was honored to help my mom care for them. My mother was their main caregiver and I would help on the weekends with any additional needs. I loved spending time with them, whether it was talking, reading, feeding or sitting together in silence. I also have memories of an internship in graduate school interning for Lincoln Park Village. I was able to conduct home visits with older adults that were less mobile and did not have family close by for support. I am a firm believer in taking care of our grandparents and the generations that raised us. I'd be happy to help in any way I can.
