Hi! My name is Shea, I'm 27, and I'm a faith-based end-of-life care companion. My passion for this work began when I became a full-time caregiver for a family member. I spent time advocating for him in the ICU, keeping track of medical updates, staying overnight, and providing comfort and companionship. When he transitioned to hospice, I continued to advocate for him and support him through the process. During this experience, I noticed how many patients go through these difficult moments without family by their side. I believe no one should ever feel alone, especially during such an important time. I'm caring, compassionate, patient, organized, detail-oriented, and dependable. I'm happy to provide companionship and advocacy in hospitals or hospice, attend appointments, help keep track of medications and medical information, and provide comfort and support to both your loved one and family. Shea did a wonderful job assisting with my father’s care during a recent hospital visit. She stayed nights with him so I could go home and rest. Many days she was the one speaking to the doctor in the mornings and updating them on his condition during the night. She was very patient with him and made sure he was comfortable and had all of his medications on time. She was observant of any side effects and asked if she thought he was in pain or needed a different option for his medication. My dad ultimately went to hospice and Shea was again staying on top of his care, making sure the nurses were aware of any adverse reactions to his medications. She was confident and showed a great amount of compassion. It was nice to be able to have the flexibility to go home for a bit and know that my father was going to be well taken care of. She really took a lot of stress off of me in a very difficult time. I would recommend her for any of your patients needs.
