About Shayna

Hi, I'm Shayna! I'm a Clinical Psychology grad student at Pepperdine (online) with 10 years of childcare experience with kids of all ages, including with neurodiverse kids. I bring patience, empathy, and creativity to every day, helping children feel safe, confident, and seen. I'm CPR/First Aid certified, have a reliable car, and love creating a calm, fun environment where kids can thrive. My approach is shaped by my background in psychology. I bring a calm, attuned presence and use tools like emotional co-regulation, positive reinforcement, and gentle structure to help kids feel safe, confident, and understood. I love meeting children where they are - whether that means fort-building, arts and crafts, outdoor adventures, quiet reading, or helping with homework and routines. Childcare, to me, is a collaboration. My goal is to be a steady, supportive presence who helps your child feel seen, safe, and celebrated, while helping your home feel a little lighter in the process!
